A concerned neighbor called 911 just before 9 a.m. Thursday. Police responded to the scene at 5700 Roanoke Blvd. and said Wilson’s body was discovered inside his home with a gunshot wound.
Neighbors said Wilson was well-known in the Sherwood Forest community. Many referred to him as the “Sherwood Legend.”
“He loved everybody. He always made everybody happy,” his daughter, C-mora said. “He loved us to death. He would do anything for us. He was very generous.”
She added that it didn’t make sense why someone would kill her father. Family members said someone broke in and killed the 44-year-old inside his home.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is now appealing for information from the public.
