JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A local family that is trying to keep its restaurant open while being treated for cancer is getting some help from a Jacksonville law firm.
The Desclefs family of six has operated The Magnificat Café, located at 231 N. Laura St., for 16 years. Action News Jax previously told you that three family members currently have cancer.
The restaurant has more than just personal meaning for the family members. It’s their source of income. Now, Farah and Farah is working to help them.
After seeing their plight, Eddie and Chuck Farah decided to take action to help the cafe that they enjoy. It’s only a few blocks from their downtown Jacksonville office.
From Dec. 9-13, Eddie and Chuck Farah are pledging $10,000 as a donation match for all sales at the restaurant to benefit the Desclefs family in what they’re calling the MagnifiMATCH event.
The Farahs said they want to give new customers a chance to try the food at The Magnificat Café
“We’re absolutely overwhelmed by the love and support from our community and especially Farah and Farah,” said Kathy Desclefs after Eddie and Chuck Farah told her the plans for MagnifiMATCH.
