JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — December 12, 2021 marks four years since a Jacksonville couple and their baby girl were killed in their own home. While nobody has been arrested for what happened, family still pushes for answers.

Police said the parents, Ariyan Johnson and Quasean Trotter, who were just 19 and 20 years old, were both shot to death at their home on India Avenue and their 11-month-old daughter, Arielle Trotter, died of smoke inhalation after someone set the Christmas tree on fire.

Mario Peterson married into the family and told Action News Jax that every year he wants to honor the little girl and couple to get justice for what happened. He said he refuses to let this become an unsolved cold case and said dealing with this every day for the past four years has been one of the worst feelings ever.
