‘I was shocked’: Video shows man attacking woman at Jacksonville gas station

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE 10:58 a.m.- JSO announced it arrested 59-year-old Kevin Troy Williamson in the case. He is being held at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for battery charges.

A local woman says racist comments led up to her leaving a gas station with a black eye.

Video given to Action News shows the moments a man is caught on security camera throwing punches at the woman and the victim is asking for help finding him.

The woman, Rayme McCoy said she was stunned by the attack and said her first thought was to call her dad and boyfriend because she said nobody helped in the situation.

The entire ordeal has left her physically and emotionally hurt and now that man is wanted by police.

What started off as a normal day and stop at the gas station eventually turned chaotic and freighting for a local woman, Rayme McCoy.

“As I was turning back around, he swung and hit me in the side of my head first and that first hit in the video my mouth immediately dropped, I was shocked,” she said. “I didn’t have time to react or anything and once he hit me that first time, he kept hitting me it didn’t stop.”

Video given to Action News Jax shows the moments an older man threw punches at her inside an Arlington BP gas station on University Boulevard N and Fort Caroline road.

In the police report, we obtained says the man made racist remarks outside the store towards someone else. McCoy said those comments continued inside and ended up directed at her.

“He was still ranting and raving about what he was talking about and at that point, I turned around and said ‘Can I have some space?” she said.

McCoy said he was buying beer and placed it on the counter in front of her. She said she tried to move it and asked him to back up, she also said he told her he had a gun in his car.

The consecutive punches hit each side of her face and left her badly hurt.

“I have a blood clot in my left eye, my left eye is black, I have knots on the left side of my head and on my temple and on my forehead,” she said. “I have one knot on the right side of my forehead, I have a cut up under my nose.”

The report says there’s probable cause for an arrest, JSO told Action News Jax they’ve identified the suspect and are looking for him.

McCoy is hoping he is found immediately.

“It’s disgusting, outside of race and everything it’s the fact a man put his hands on me like that,” she said. “I want him to actually serve time for this and I’m going to take this to court, I want to fully press charges, like every charge I could possibly press.”
