Jacksonville Jaguars to announce new plans for downtown development

The plan will reportedly include a standalone football facility and a five-star hotel.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — After the proposed $450 million redevelopment of Lot J ultimately failed in January, the Jacksonville Jaguars are set to unveil new plans for developing downtown Jacksonville.

The Jaguars will present updated downtown development plans Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at TIAA Bank Field.

Jaguars Owner Shad Khan, President Mark Lamping and Head Coach Urban Meyer will address the team’s ongoing commitment to downtown development, the Jaguars said in a release.

Mark Long, the Jaguars beat writer for the Associated Press, says the plan will include a standalone football facility and a five-star hotel.
