JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —
The City of Jacksonville will light up the river Nov. 28 with the annual Jacksonville Light Boat Parade, ending in a great firework show featuring the famous “waterfalls.”
“The Jacksonville Light Boat Parade is a holiday tradition that we’ve been grateful to produce for over 30 years here in the City of Jacksonville,” said Mayor Lenny Curry.
There will be guest judges including city council member Al Ferraro, VyStar Credit Union VP of Community Engagement & Sponsorships Amanda Crawford, and First Coast news anchor Lew Turner.
Participants will be judged on overall boat look and decoration composition.
The categories are split into vessels under 30′, vessels 30′ and over, sailboats and corporate.

Curry stated, “We welcome boats of all different shapes and sizes and can’t wait to see you all out on the water or as guests on the Riverwalk.”
You can view the parade from the North and Southbank Riverwalks, including Riverfront Plaza and Friendship Fountain.
Boats will start floating along the St. Johns River at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront Hotel, and follow along the Northbank Riverwalk to the Fuller Warren Bridge.
They will then cross the south bank and follow along the Southbank Riverwalk, to the Duval County school board building.
After the parade, the firework show will start around 8 p.m. off the Main Street and Acosta Bridge.
