Jacksonville police: Man shot, killed outside home on the Northside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man died after being shot several times outside of a home on the Northside on Tuesday morning, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

JSO was dispatched around 9:50 a.m. to the 12300 block of Sumter Square Drive East near the Interstate 95/Interstate 295 junction.

Police found a man in his late 40s suffering from several gunshot wounds.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department took the man to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

JSO said it appears the incident started out as a domestic dispute that started in a home and spilled out into the street, where the shooting happened.

Several people are detained and will be taken to JSO headquarters for questioning to figure out how all of the parties involved are related.
