Teen boy accused of shooting, killing another teen boy in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A teen boy has been arrested and is facing a murder charge in connection to the shooting death of another teen boy that happened Tuesday.

D’Andre McCray, 15, is facing murder in the second degree and possession of a firearm by a juvenile delinquent, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, officers responded to the 2800 block of West Beaver Street and found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot. Members of the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department pronounced the boy dead at the scene.

JSO investigators later found that McCray and victim were in an altercation, leading to McCray shooting the victim.

Shortly after the shooting, witnesses told investigators that multiple young men ran away.
