JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

The Jacksonville Jaguars secured the number one overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Mathew Smith, operating manager of Sports Mania in Jacksonville Beach, told Action News Jax that the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jaguars’ losing record and high-profile players leaving the team have made it a tough year for sports merchandise shops in Northeast Florida.

He said the possibility of the Jaguars drafting Clemson Quarterback Trevor Lawrence now is providing a needed economic boost to their business.
