JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville police found a 72-year-old man with gunshot wounds in the back of a residence in the 2100 block of West 14th Street on Saturday. The man was pronounced deceased after being transported to the hospital.
Police believe the victim was shot by a pistol in the chest at least two times.
According to witnesses, a Black man in his 30s wearing a dark-colored hoodie was seen fleeing the scene after gunshots were heard. The man got inside a black or brown SUV and drove westbound towards North Canal Street.
At this time, no other suspects have been detained. The gun has also not been recovered.
