JSO: Man shot while inside car in Springfield area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was shot Sunday while inside his car at 40 East 18th Street, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Salas with JSO said an unknown individual in another vehicle pulled up beside the man’s car and shot multiple times.

The man, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound on his side. He is in stable condition.

Police do not believe there is any danger to the community.

This shooting happened less than five minutes away from another shooting that occurred Saturday when another man was shot inside his car. It happened at 1100 West 13th Street at about 2:45 p.m.

The man told police he was shot at multiple times by an unknown person. He was taken to a hospital for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in the lower extremities.
