JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville-based LGBTQ+ group JASMYN said it is pride month in the River City, and they are celebrating “Coming Out Day” at their annual breakfast Tuesday morning.
This breakfast marks JASMYN’s 16th annual Coming Out Day Breakfast. The event celebrates the contributions people and volunteers have made within the area’s LGBTQ+ community while celebrating “truth and power, diversity and inclusion, and community.”
The organization is dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ young people and wants to recognize those that make a difference for the greater good of the community.
Today’s breakfast featured two keynote speakers: Jacksonville native Javontae Williams, a nurse and nationally recognized public health advocate, and Sam Ames, the director of advocacy and government affairs at the Trevor Project.
