JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — LaTanya Wynn-Hall runs the Lutheran Services Florida Duval Head Start Program.
She’s in charge of getting young children ready for kindergarten.
The low-income eligibility program serves more than 1,400 of the most vulnerable children in Jacksonville.
And with the pandemic, it’s been a year like no other at the school.
“We have had to quarantine staff and children, we’ve had to close classrooms, close center, we had a program quarantine in November because it was just spreading,” Wynn-Hall said.

The program is partnering with Agape Family Health to vaccinate teachers and their family members.
Wynn-Hall told me it’s the only way to stop the spread of the virus and keep her kids safe.
Agape Family Health told Action News Jax it’ll administer 200 doses of the Moderna vaccine on Thursday.
“We look to make sure we’re able to vaccinate those that are our most vulnerable populations and to those that are providing services to those populations,” Mia Jones,” the CEO of Agape Family Health said.
For Wynn-Hall getting the vaccine out to her staff is a chance to return to normal.

“Our staff, our children have been very resilient. You know they have the mask and the face shields but we want them to be able not have to wear mask and face shields, we want them to be able to go back to their homes and be safe,” Wynn-Hall said.
Agape Family Health will be on-site Thursday to administer the vaccine from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Phillip Randolph Boulevard.
