JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville police surrounded a home on Jacksonville’s Southside for hours on Monday, but are so far not saying why.

A photo from a viewer shows Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officers with rifles drawn, taking cover behind a patrol car at the height of the situation.

Neighbors say police were in a standoff with at least one person in a home on Sandusky Avenue, which is near Beach and Southside boulevards.

Later on Monday afternoon, Action News Jax crews saw officers with several items on the back of a patrol car, putting them into brown paper evidence bags.

The Action News Jax Skyvision Drone flew over the neighborhood, which showed dozens of police cars on Sandusky Avenue.

We are continuing to seek information from JSO about this incident.
