JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Sun Country Airlines announced Tuesday its new nonstop flights to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) will begin on April 8, 2022.
The fares are as low as $69, one way.
The flight will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays seasonally.
The airline announced the new Twin Cities to Jacksonville route along with 10 other new routes and extended its booking calendar allowing passengers to book travel through September 2022.
“With more folks eager to resume leisure travel, we’re excited to be able to offer them another option to get away this spring and summer to enjoy the Sunshine State,” said Sun Country Airlines Chief Revenue Officer Grant Whitney. “We know there is pent-up demand for convenient, affordable travel, and we’re here to help folks enjoy the vacations they’ve been dreaming about.”
With the addition of Sun Country Airlines, there are now nine airlines flying in and out of JAX.
Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Mark VanLoh said, “Their [Sun Country Airlines] low fares will increase tourism to Northeast Florida, while offering our community nonstop flights to the Twin Cities.”
