JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — More than a dozen units at the Golden Shores apartment complex were flooded early Tuesday morning after authorities say a car struck a fire hydrant up the street at Arlington and Hare.
Neighbors like Tiffany Revelle-Harris spent hours sweeping as much water as they could out of their homes.

She says many elderly people live there, and cleaning up has been a challenge.
“Some people live on social security, disability, and things like that. People shouldn’t have to worry about how things need to get fixed,” she said. “Some of us work enough to make ends meet and this is absolutely insane.”
An apartment manager told Action News Jax the city is handling the cleanup.
Servpro crews were seen pumping water out of apartments early Tuesday afternoon.
Revelle-Harris remembers waking up around 2:30 a.m. to a flooded apartment.
“I felt my carpet’s wet. And I’m like, what’s going on? So I went to go in towards my kitchen and I fell,” she said.
She wishes tenants had been alerted that their homes were in danger of being flooded.

“I understand accidents happen, but if this water was coming out early in the morning, somebody should’ve came down here and said ‘hey, we’ve got a problem up the street,” she said.
Crews installed a new fire hydrant later on Tuesday afternoon.
Action News Jax has requested JSO’s incident report to learn more about what led up to the crash and who is at fault.
