Adult, child injured after police pursuit leads to crash on Lem Turner

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a reckless driver near the Sherwood area Saturday evening.

According to police, an officer in an unmarked car witnessed someone driving recklessly in a Hyundai and called it in.

Police arrived and pursued the vehicle westbound on Clyde Street and attempted to pull the Hyundai over but failed.

The Hyundai collided with a maroon Chevrolet Caprice and a Jeep Liberty after passing a red light on Lem Turner Road.

Police successfully arrested the three male occupants of the Hyundai after the crash. A minor amount of marijuana was found along with two firearms.

Two people were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries: An adult male in the Chevrolet Caprice and an 11-year-old in the Jeep Liberty.
