JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The River City Science Academy is mourning the loss of beloved teacher Nicole Hollis who taught the third grade.
The school released the following statement:
“River City Science Academy (RCSA) lost a beloved teacher Mrs. Nicole Hollis this weekend.
Hollis was an inspirational teacher at RCSA Mandarin. Hollis taught third grade and team leader at RCSA. She not only was a teacher but a mother to two children who also attend RCSA.
Her family had this to say about her passing. “We are heart broken. Nicole never met a person she didn’t like; she had the most beautiful contagious smile. She was the most genuine and sweetest person that walked the Earth. She was the best thing to happen to our family! Heaven gained an all-star. Thank you for all the prayers! Please hug your loved ones tight today.”
RCSA plans to have counselors and support staff on Monday Aug. 16 to help students and staff who have been impacted by this tragedy. We ask your patience with school services as our admin members are also impacted with loss. The class is already covered with our certified teacher since we were aware of the serious condition before school started.
Our sincerest sympathy to Hollis family. We Loss of Our Staff Member, Mother and Friend.”
The cause of her death has not been disclosed.
This is a developing story that will be updated once more information becomes available.
