JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — If you’re getting your kids ready for the school year, you know new uniforms are a must.
Well, many families can’t afford them, but now, two organizations are teaming up to make sure kids have what they need.

The Giving Closet Project has donated $40,000 worth of uniform and supply donations to the Kids Hope Alliance (KHA), a group that helps low-income and homeless youth all across Duval County.
“We’re just extremely thankful,” said Travis Williams, a spokesperson for KHA.
Presbyterian Social Ministries provided the uniforms to The Giving Closet Project.
“Typically, we’re not able to get the uniforms to the children until the school year starts. Because of this, we’re actually able to get them before school starts so that they’re ready day one,” said David Sneed, president of the board for the Giving Closet Project.
At KHA, there are dozens of boxes with uniforms for boys and girls of all sizes. There are also jackets and some hygiene items. Students will get two pairs of uniforms to prepare them for the school year.
Jazzmine Cockfield, a family liaison for Ramona Elementary, has seen the kids’ reactions firsthand when they get their own pair.
