JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UF Health Jacksonville has named its next CEO following the unexpected death of Dr. Leon Haley in South Florida on July 24.

Russell E. Armistead was the CEO of UF Health Jacksonville from 2013 to December of 2017 when he retired. Before that, he served as Associate Vice President for UF Health in Gainesville and Jacksonville.
Armistead has covered multiple fields for UF Health from patient care to finances and more.
Former CEO Dr. Haley commended Armistead for his commitment to UF Health in 2017.
“It’s clear that Russ is invested in the betterment of this organization,” Dr. Haley said.
