Video: Coast Guard airlifts man on Carnival cruise ship to hospital after having medical issue

A man on a Carnival Cruise ship was flown by the U. S. Coast Guard to a hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Thursday, according to the U. S. Coast Guard.

In a video from the U. S. Coast Guard, a 34-year-old man can be seen being airlifted from the Carnival Pride ship. Cruise authorities contacted the Coast Guard saying the man was reportedly suffering from medical complications and was in need of further medical care, the Coast Guard said in a release Sunday.

Crews were able to successfully retrieve the man from the ship that was located about 230 miles north of San Juan and flew him to a hospital in San Juan that was prepared for his arrival.

According to Carnival’s website, Carnival Pride departs from Tampa, Florida and Baltimore, Maryland.
