A man who says he was married to Kimberly Kessler twice opened up to Action News Jax.

Xylon Losey said he met Kessler in the early 1990s and described her as a young woman he loved.

Kessler is the only suspect in the disappearance case of missing Nassau County mother Joleen Cummings.

Cummings vanished on Mother's day, more than two months ago.

Cummings is presumed dead by the Nassau County Sheriff's Office, and the woman at the center of the investigation is her co-worker, Kimberly Kessler.

According to police, Kessler was seen on surveillance video dropping off Cummings SUV in the parking lot of Home Depot parking lot in Yulee.

But most don’t know who Kessler is, as she’s lived under 18 different aliases in over 30 U.S. cities.

Losey said he was married to Kessler twice, under her alias Melissa McKernan while living in Arizona.

He said Kessler was using fake names long before being reported missing in the 2000s.

Losey described Kessler as a sweet, health-conscious woman.

“My thoughts about Melissa doing it -- my Melissa, I can’t see her doing it," he said when asked about the allegations against Kessler.

Losey explained their relationship as a crazy one and said he hasn't heard from Kessler in decades.

Kessler remains in the Duval County Jail.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.
