A pregnant teen has been missing for almost two weeks. Now her family is pleading for answers in her disappearance.

“We are a very close-knit family. We know where everyone is at all times so if she’s not home she’s typically with family,” said Paula Dixon.

Dixon said her 16-year-old niece Iyana Sawyer was reported missing by her family on Dec. 19.

Dixon tells Action News Jax it’s not like her to run away. Sawyer is a sophomore at Terry Parker High school and was set to graduate early next year.

“She’s a straight-A student, over 4.0 GPA; she’s got scholarships, she got her first scholarship when she was in elementary, she’s got multiple scholarships,” said Dixon.

Sawyer's family tell us she was supposed to hop on the bus at Terry Parker High School and come home, but she never made it.

Her family said her sister got on the bus and noticed that her sister wasn’t on there, so she called her mom.

According to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report we obtained Sawyer didn't show up for her last two classes that day. The last time family spoke with her was around lunchtime.

JSO also tried to call the teen but her phone was turned off.

Dixon said Sawyer recently told them she was five months pregnant and had started picking out baby names.

“Her mother was extremely excited about being a grandmother, my mother and father were extremely excited about being great-grandparents,” said Dixon.

After nearly two weeks Dixon is just hoping her niece returns home safely.

Her family says Sawyer was last seen wearing a white Victoria Secret Pink hoodie with blue jeans.
