Family: Coast Guard to suspend search for El Faro crew

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Families of missing crew members on El Faro report that the Coast Guard will suspend their search.

A family told Action News Jax's Erica Bennett the search will end Wednesday night.

The container ship had 33 people on board, 28 Americans and five Polish nationals. The Coast Guard found a body that was unrecognizable.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the U.S. Coast Guard are expected to hold a joint news conference at 3 p.m. in Jacksonville about the search for El Faro crew.
