UPDATE 12/22/18: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced an arrest in the shooting death of a 27-year-old mother of two.
27-year-old Eric Jackson is being held without bond in the Duval County Jail in connection with the death of Nekecheana Shantoria Phillips.
According to JSO, Jackson had been in a prior domestic relationship with Phillips.
JSO said Jackson had been served with an Injunction for Protection the day before Phillips was shot and killed, listing Phillips as the petitioner.
According to JSO, Phillips and several others arrived home to find Jackson inside, hiding and awaiting her return.
When Phillips saw Jackson, she ran back outside to get away from him, JSO said.
Jackson followed and confronted her as she sat inside a car with other individuals, according to JSO.
Jackson then produced a firearm and shot Phillips multiple times, JSO said.
Phillips later died as a result of the shooting, JSO said.
According to JSO, Jackson fled on foot but later turned himself in to police, where he was interviewed and charged with murder and burglary.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office told Action News Jax they responded to the 4600 block of Hunt Street around 1 p.m. Friday to find a woman who had died.
JSO said the homicide unit is investigating, and they could not release additional details at the time of the briefing held Friday evening.
People identifying themselves as family members of the victim told Action News Jax that the woman was 27-year-old.
They say the mother of two was gunned down this afternoon in a family member’s car and that the aunt, uncle and her two daughters were inside the car when she was shot.
“When I got the news, I was at my sister’s house,” said Phillips’ mother, Jacquelyn Phillips.
Crime scene tape and JSO cruisers surrounded the Lackawanna neighborhood throughout the afternoon and evening.
Investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses.
Action News Jax reporter Ryan Nelson was the only reporter to speak to Nekecheana's mother, Jacquelyn Phillips in an on-camera interview.
Phillips told him the family called her ‘Nene.’
“I told my sister we gotta’ go cause ‘Nene’ got shot,” said Phillips.
Jacquelyn told Action News Jax her daughter was shot at least three times -- in the arm, leg and jaw.
Action News Jax has contacted JSO to confirm the identity of the victim and manner of her death, and we are waiting for a response.
“When I got to the scene, they tell me my daughter was dead, and I don’t have no understanding. I don’t have no understanding,” said Jacquelyn.
She told us her daughter was in abusive relationship and had recently obtained a restraining order.
Court records revealed Nekecheana Philips was approved for a temporary injunction yesterday, Dec. 20th.
Nekecheana Philips was due in court in 12 days, on Jan. 2, 2019.
Action News Jax has asked police if the other party in the case is a suspect, and we will update as soon as JSO responds.
“My daughter did not deserve that. Now I gotta tell my grandbabies,” said Jacquelyn Phillips.
