JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are searching for the gunman in the fatal shooting of another local father.

The group Mad Dads identified 33-year-old Darnell Wilson as the victim of Thursday’s fatal shooting in Sherwood Forest.

Action News Jax told you yesterday after the man was discovered inside a home on Roanoke Boulevard off Sibbald Road. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said police responded to the home after receiving an anonymous 911 call.

According to Mad Dads, Wilson is a father of three.

The fatal shooting of Wilson comes just one day after a Jacksonville Beach father was shot and killed in front of his toddler in an area described by neighbors as “quiet and tight-knit”.

“We all know each other. Everyone here is very, very close. So, this kind of stuff doesn’t happen here,” Erin Frauenheim, who lives around the corner from the shooting, told Action News Jax reporter Robert Grant. “People are just trying to help the police officers for somebody’s family that unfortunately lost a dad last night.
