A Putnam County father said he wants the driver who he said left his daughter and niece hurt and unconscious on the side of the road to come forward.
Jason Meiers said the crash happened on Bellamy Road, a quiet dirt road in Melrose.
"You barely have enough room on the road to get two vehicles down,” Meiers said.
Meiers said a truck tried to speed past his daughter’s car down that road around 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
"I guess the driver of the other vehicle loses control, fishtails into her, and from what we gather, the back end of both vehicles had to make contact,” Meiers said.
Meiers said that’s when the car flipped, trapping his daughter and his 12-year-old niece.
He said the other driver never stopped.

Meiers said the girls were unconscious but, at some point, woke up and managed to free themselves by crawling out of a hole in the back window.
“My daughter says the last thing she sees before she wakes up to the screaming of my niece in the car is the ground coming up through the windshield,” Meiers said.
The top of the car was crushed, and the car was totaled.
Meiers said he’s grateful the girls were only left with cuts and bruises, but he said he wants the other driver held accountable.
"It's basically going to take the person being a real man or a human being, whoever you are, to stand up and say, 'I screwed up,'” Meiers said. “'I need to face this.'"
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
