A man is dead and a second man is seriously hurt after a crash in Nassau County, according to troopers.
Florida Highway Patrol was called to the crash at 85245 Blackmon Road at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Troopers say Marvin Roberts, 38 of Yulee, was killed after veering off the road and hitting a tree.
The FHP report says Roberts was driving northbound on Blackmon Road "well above the posted speed limit" when he failed to negotiate a right curve.
Troopers say the car traveled off the roadway and into a ditch before hitting a concrete culvert and the tree.
Roberts was pronounced dead at the crash site. David Prestigiacomo, 21 of Yulee, was seriously hurt in the crash, according to troopers.
FHP said no one in the car was wearing a seatbelt. Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash.
