FHP: Jacksonville man dead after crash in North Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 43-year-old Jacksonville man died on Tuesday evening after a crash in North Jacksonville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to the crash report, the crash happened on Main Street at Sara Drive at 6:58 p.m.

A 68-year-old Jacksonville man was driving a truck north on Main Street and approaching Sara Drive on the inside lane.

FHP said the 43-year-old was “possibly attempting to make a U-Turn” on Main Street at the intersection or “was involved in a prior hit and run crash” just before this crash.

The truck stopped within the inside travel lane in front of the victim’s sedan. The front of the sedan collided with the driver’s side of the truck.

The 43-year-old died. The 68-year-old has minor injuries.

According to the crash report, the possible ht-and-run vehicle is a White Nissan Altima with the Florida tag AR01DM.
