The Action News JAX First Alert Weather Team is tracking a winter storm this morning in the Jacksonville area from southeast Georgia to northeast Florida.
Travel conditions along I-10 in northeast Florida and across all of southeast Georgia will be significantly impacted by freezing rain, sleet, and snow Wednesday.
A large portion of the viewing area is under a Winter Storm Warning including all of southeast Georgia until 5pm.
Coastal Nassau, inland Duval, Clay and Bradford counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory until 5pm.
A Quarter to half inch of freezing rain/sleet is possible from Lake City to Waycross to just west of I-95 in GA.
Additionally, 1-3” of snow possible through inland southeast Georgia (Waycross to Blackshear could see locally higher amounts).
Brunswick to Folkston to northern Columbia county will see freezing rain turning to light snow in the afternoon with ice accumulations.
Rain/snow mix expected early this morning for western Duval county.
This may turn to light snow or flurries by midday but no significant accumulations are expected for western Duval.
Any moisture left on the ground by this evening will freeze overnight leading to icy conditions by Thursday.
There may be some icy patchy on roads early Thursday even through Duval county, especially on bridges and overpasses.
