NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A tornado touched down Thursday afternoon in Nassau County and the National Weather Service in Jacksonville has confirmed it was an EF-1 tornado.
A tornado warning was issued for Nassau County from 2 to 2:30 p.m. The NWS said the maximum winds were estimated to be 90 to 100 mph.
The maximum path was 200 yards and the tornado's path length was 4.25 miles.

The tornado reached its peak intensity, estimated at nearly 100 mph, along A1A as it flipped a semi-tractor trailer on its side.
Nassau County Emergency Management estimates that 40 to 50 homes were damaged as a result of the tornado, with the most damage concentrated in the Meadowfield Bluff subdivision.
This is the second EF-1 tornado in Northeast Florida this summer. There was an EF-1 tornado on Jacksonville's Westside during Tropical Storm Colin in June.
