CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A close friend of a Clay County teen who was shot and killed over the weekend said he was there during the attempted robbery.

Tyler Besherse said the deadly shooting of Kolton Shearer, 18, had nothing to do with drugs. He said it was a robbery that turned deadly.

Besherse said he, Shearer and another man, David Levo, were lured to the home to hang out with girls, but they were robbed. Levo was shot in the leg and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

“Three men were armed," Besherse said. "I was face down in the driveway by (Shearer’s) truck with a gun to my head. I couldn't see much other than Shearer wrestling a man in all black and a T-shirt wrapped around his face. Kolton said, 'I'll give anything - don't take my truck,' then shots went off."

Deputies said the three men were Ozell McNabb Jr., Taurean Johnson and Jordan Coleman. Alexandra Schreffler, a fourth suspect, is on suicide watch in jail.

Besherse said Schreffler set up the whole incident. She baited Shearer to his death, Besherse said.

“They had no remorse,” Besherse said. “They did exactly what they planned on doing. They all are stone-cold murderers.”

Action News Jax reporter Russell Colburn brought the new information to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office for confirmation. Right now, deputies only said robbery is believed to be the motive.
