GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — Tuesday update: Family and friends are mourning a 15-year-old killed in a hit-and-run crash in Glynn County.
Jacob Butts was riding his skateboard home on Sunday night when he was hit by a suspected drunk driver, according to a GoFundMe for the family.
Police said said 21-year-old Madisyn Culpepper was arrested after she was involved in a crash at Baumgardner Road and U.S. Highway 82, just half a mile from where Jacob was found on Monday morning.
Culpepper's blood alcohol level was 0.22 at the time of her arrest, according to police.
Family said of Jacob in the GoFundMe: "His family is crushed in dealing with such a great loss of the most polite, loving, kind, and giving 15 year old young man."

Madisyn Culpepper, 21, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol and is facing charges of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident causing injury or death and failure to maintain lane, according to a release from the GCPD.

Police responded around 6:45 a.m. Monday to Lakes Drive near Baumgardner Road in Brunswick to investigate a death. They said they found 15-year-old Glynn Academy student Jacob Butts dead on the ground.
GSP and GCPD began a joint investigation. They said Culpepper was involved in a crash at 10:30 p.m. Sunday at Baumgardner Road and U.S. Highway 82, just half a mile from where Jacob was found on Monday morning. Culpepper's blood alcohol level was 0.22 at the time of her arrest, according to the release.

Investigators believe that Culpepper struck and killed Jacob before being involved in the crash on U.S. Hwy 82.
