Brunswick police officer arrested after a reported altercation with stepdaughter at high school

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — A Brunswick police officer was arrested Friday after a physical altercation with her stepdaughter at Brunswick High School.

Police said Officer Marsha Myers-Bue was called to the school to deal with a disciplinary issue involving her stepdaughter.

Myers-Bue signed into the school and shortly after arriving, the physical fight broke out outside of a classroom.

Police said the teen was brought to the school nurse and was not seriously hurt.

The teen had a few cuts and bruises and remained in school for the rest of the day, according to Glynn County School District Police.

Some parents said the altercation never should have happened.

"She's an officer so she should have known better than to do that at a school," parent Donovan Freeman said. "She should have handled that at the house. There's a time and place for everything and up here in front of everybody, that's not it. They got other kids watching and seeing stuff like that. They don't need to see that."

According to the Brunswick Police Department's website, Myers-Bue is an officer in the evidence department.

Glynn County School District Police said it's possible the teen may end up being charged as well.
