Gov. DeSantis orders for Florida National Guard soldiers to be brought home from U.S Capitol

Gov. Ron DeSantis has ordered the Adjutant General to bring Florida National Guard soldiers home from the National Capital Region.

The Florida governor said he made the order Thursday night.

Thousands of National Guard troops moved to a parking garage after being told they could not rest in the Capitol on Thursday night.

The move was reversed after photos surfaced. The National Guard Bureau said the troop relocation was temporary because congress was is in session.

Approximately 25,000 National Guard troops were called up from all 50 states and DC because of heightened security concerns around the inauguration of President Biden.
