Homeless shelters open in Jacksonville during cold weather

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Many Jacksonville homeless shelters are providing cold-weather shelter for the area’s homeless population.

People can begin to check in to the City Rescue Mission at 6:30 p.m. Shelter will be available as long as the temperature is under 40°.

The shelter is on West State Street.

The Sulzbacher Center will open for overflow any night it’s below 40°.

Men can go to the location on East Adams Street. Women and children can go to the Springfield Boulevard location.

The Trinity Rescue Mission on West Union Street will be open.

Men can begin to check in at 4 p.m. and women and children at 1:30 p.m.

Mission House in Jacksonville Beach will be open. it’s on Shetter Avenue.

Community Presbyterian will be open in Atlantic Beach. It’s located on Sherry Drive.
