Hundreds gathered for multiple vigils at the Jacksonville Landing Wednesday to honor the victims of Sunday’s mass shooting.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said two men were killed and 11 others were injured in the shooting inside a game room of Chicago Pizza.
JSO said it happened during a Madden tournament.

Kamorie Jones frequents the Good Luck Have Fun, or GLHF, game room and says he was supposed to be there Sunday but slept in instead.
“It’s just sad because it goes through my mind. If I was there, would I have tried to stop [the shooter], would I have tried to run? I don’t know, but that just keeps playing in my head,” Jones said.
At one of the vigils, Alexandra Acosta gave out ribbons calling for an end to gun violence.
She remembers exactly what she was thinking and feeling when this happened. “I started sobbing,” Acosta said. “I checked to see if everybody was OK. Everyone that I knew was OK, and then I just broke down crying. I couldn’t handle it.”
Wednesday may have been an important step for this community to come together and heal.
“I think it just shows that people love this city and they want to come together,” said Carla Montgomery, of Jacksonville. Montgomery says the victims will be in the hearts of the people of Jacksonville forever.
