GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — Update 10/8: According to Glynn County Sheriff jail population data, the hunter who shot and killed 17-year-old Bobby Lane is in jail under multiple charges related to the incident.

Hector Romero-Hernandez is listed as being in Glynn County Jail under several hunting related charges, including misuse of a firearm while hunting resulting in serious bodily harm, hunting with an unlawful weapon and hunting without a big game license.

Police said  Bobby Lane was in an area of thick foliage when Hector Romero shot Lane. Lane and Romero knew each other and had come to the area hunt.

Romero drove lane to the Friendly Express on Highways 82 and 303 where they met emergency responders.

Lane died of his injuries at the hospital.

According to a report by The Brunswick News, Lane was 17 years old.

Though it is currently bow season in Georgia, Glynn County Police said Lane was shot by a rifle.
