TRAFFIC ALERT: I-95 still slow following early morning crash in St. Johns Co.

ST. JOHNS, Fla. — A crash involving two semi-trucks and a sedan at 7 a.m. Thursday has snarled traffic for hours.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of I-95 near County Road 210.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the car hit the rear of one semi, causing it to run off the road, hit a tree and catch fire. The second semi then hit the car.

The driver of the car, a 32-year-old man, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The 62-year-old driver of one of the semi-trucks was critically injured.

The driver of the second semi had minor injuries, according to the FHP report.

Since the crash, southbound traffic has been slow on I-95, I-295, 9B and U.S. 1.
