The owner of a property on Richardson Road wants to rezone the roughly 3.36 acres of land to bring a 40-town home community to the area.
It would be called the Residences at Richardson Road and would be a multi-family community.
Romaro Worth, who has lived on Richardson Road for 23 years, is one of several people raising concerns over this.
“Bringing 40 townhomes is going to bring more crime to the neighborhood,” said Worth.
Another concern neighbors have is an increase in traffic as they said the intersection of New Kings Road and Richardson Road is already pretty busy.
“I think it will have a negative impact on us,” said Katrina Cook, who works at Sarah L. Carter’s Funeral Home just across the street from the proposed site.
Cook does not want to see this development happen.
“I’m concerned about it,” said Cook. “I hope it does not go through.”
This proposed rezoning will be discussed during the city council meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 14th.
