JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — YOUR OFFICIAL JAGUARS STATIONS: Find out what having the first overall pick in the NFL Draft means for Jacksonville off the gridiron on the Action Sports Jax Jags Nation: Draft Night in Duval special on Thursday at 7 p.m. on CBS47 and FOX30
For the first time in franchise history, the Jacksonville Jaguars are making the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft and it’s no secret who the team has its eyes on -- Trevor Lawrence.
Action Sports Jax’s Brent Martineau sat down for a one-on-one interview with Jaguars owner Shad Khan, who said he’s excited for the 2021 season.

Khan said he is “pumped up” about the Jaguars picking No. 1 on Thursday night.
There’s not going to be a lot of drama at No. 1 -- everyone knows Lawrence is coming to town.
Khan, who is going into his 10th year as owner of the team, said he really feels this thing turning with the hire of Urban Meyer as head coach and now the ability to get a franchise quarterback after going through eight quarterbacks in the last nine seasons.
They hope Lawrence will be the quarterback for the next decade or so.
Khan might owe New York Jets owner Woody Johnson a bit of a favor or dinner at the owners meetings, because the Jets did the Jags a favor last December.
“No, I’m still putting the gift basket together, OK, and it’s going to be a good one. Woody’s back from serving the U.S., so I’m hoping to go have a drink with him,” Khan said.

“Do you have anxiety in that war room?” Martineau asked.
“You know, when you’ve prepared, you don’t have anxiety. A lot of the stuff that’s probably gonna happen is not what you or the common wisdom is expecting. There is a vision of what the team is going to look like. You know, there might be some surprises,” Khan said.
