PHOTO GALLERY: The new Jacksonville Beach Pier
The fishing pier at Jacksonville Beach reopened on Thursday morning at 6 a.m.
The beautiful landmark was closed indefinitely due to damage sustained during Hurricane Matthew in October 2016 and additional damage from Hurricane Irma in September 2017.
Though the pier has reopened, only 625 feet of the pier is opened to the public. The rest of it still needs to be inspected.
The cost to fish from the pier is $4 and it is a dollar for spectators. Children under the age of 6 are free.
