Jacksonville Beach received three inches of rain from storms Wednesday afternoon, causing fast flooding in the area.

Parts of Third Street in Neptune Beach had water up to the middle of car's tires.

The Beaches Town Center off Atlantic Boulevard was also flooded after storms dumped a lot of rain and hail on the beaches.

The flooding damaged several homes and businesses, leaving residents and owners frustrated.

“If they go through slowly, it’s ok. It’s when they come rushing to see the big waves that’s when it floods the inside the store, it gets bad,” said Ken Hall of the Pepboys at Jacksonville Beach.

Action News Jax told reported in early May that the Florida Department of Transportation proposed improvements to reduce flooding along 3rd Street and surrounding areas.
