Jacksonville hairstylist donating wigs to cancer patients

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A longtime Jacksonville hairstylist is making 15 wigs to donate to the American Cancer Society during  Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Tarina Akbari, owner of Tarina's Hair Salon, donated 10 wigs last year.

Akbari's website says: "Dealing with cancer is hard enough and the women suffering from hair loss should have one less thing to worry about.

"In donating custom wigs it will give women a sense of hope, shows that someone cares, and allows them to be beautiful."

The Komen North Florida Race for the Cure will be held at Metropolitan Park on Saturday, Oct. 17.
