A Biscayne High School student was arrested Friday after he was found with a Smith & Wesson pistol with 14 live rounds in the magazine, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
Xavier Gray, 18, was found to have a gun in his bookbag, JSO said. The gun was wrapped in a sweatshirt and was discovered by a school employee, a police report said.
Gray is charged with possession of a firearm on school property, a felony.
Gray was the second Jacksonville-area student arrested on Oct. 6 for allegedly taking a gun to school.
Duval County Public Schools confirmed that a student was arrested Friday after Mandarin High School officials found the student in possession of a firearm on campus.
The school said the student will face criminal charges and possible expulsion.
