Mom dies Christmas Eve after triple shooting in Northwest Jacksonville, police say

11:40 a.m. UPDATE: Family and neighbors tell Action News Jax, Victoria Wyche was the woman shot and killed.

7:42 a.m. UPDATE: A Jacksonville mother died of her injuries around 3:50 a.m. on Christmas Eve after being shot in a triple shooting late Sunday night.

Police said the woman was between the age of 45 and 50.

Authorities said she was sitting on her porch with two other people when a group of men and women walked by the home on North Pearl Street -- and words were exchanged.

The same group came back to the area and a man grabbed a gun and began shooting, according to JSO.

Action News Jax has learned the woman's children were inside the home during the shooting.

Bullet fragments were found inside the home.

Police say the two others shot have been released from the hospital.

5:38 a.m. UPDATE: One person has died following a triple shooting on North Pearl Street, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Officers have not released the identity of any of the shooting victims at this time.

According to police, the shooting happened outside a house near a thrift store in the area.

The sergeant tells Action News Jax reporter Brittney Donovan the victims tried to run inside the home to escape the gunfire.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a triple shooting in Northwest Jacksonville on Christmas Eve.

Officers said they received a call at 11:55 p.m. Sunday in reference to a person shot in the 3300 block of Pearl Street.

When police arrived, they found three people with gunshot wounds.

They were taken to the hospital, according to JSO. Action News Jax is working to learn their condition.
