Jacksonville police are investigating after hate-filled flyers were distributed in a Southside neighborhood.

The papers are filled with racist messages and include contact information for the “Loyal White Knights of the KKK.”

Kelia Herman said she was outraged when her husband found the flyer at the end of their driveway on Sunday.

The mother of two tells Action News Jax there were at least 100 of the ads lining her East Arlington street.

“They’re probably looking to target younger people who are easily influenced to agree with their racist views," Herman said.

Other families contacted the Action News Jax newsroom, saying they feel targeted by the flyers.

We called the number listed on the flyers to find out who is distributing them.

No one answered the phone, but there was a recorded recruiting message.

Herman says she contacted the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and was told it is considered free speech and they can’t track the person.

Monday, a JSO spokesperson told Action News Jax that the flyers are now under investigation.

“It’s just terrible that there are still people that want to preach hatred and racism," Herman said.
