JSO: Suspects with hammers rob Jared jewelry store

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — 12:26 P.M. JUNE 12 UPDATE: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has identified the three suspects arrested in the armed robbery as: John Davis, Delano Ross and Tristian Murphy.

11:35 A.M. June 12 UPDATE: Action News Jax has learned that the FBI in Jacksonville was tipped off by the FBI in Detroit about the suspects targeting locations in the Jacksonville area. The FBI in Jacksonville then tipped off the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office who deployed the SWAT team.

The FBI says the crime trend with the same MO has been happening nationwide.

The suspects in Tuesday's jewelry armed robbery are not from the Jacksonville area, according to the FBI.  The names of the suspects have not been released at this time.

8:39 A.M. June 12 UPDATE: The fourth suspect in the Jared jewelry store robbery near the St. JohnsTown Center has been arrested, according to Camden County officials.

Devon Newby, 28, was arrested after officials spotted him on I-95 in the Hyundai Elantra, the car police in Jacksonville said the suspect got away in and pulled him over.

Newby was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

JSO stated in the below tweet that Newby has not been charged in the armed robbery.

Action News Jax is working to learn the names of the three other suspects JSO arrested Tuesday night.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a robbery at the 4600 block of Town Center Parkway.

The incident occurred at 7 p.m., according to JSO -- two hours before the store's closing time.

Three suspects walked into the Jared jewelry store with hammers, broke glass counters, took jewelry and then ran out, according to JSO.

JSO stated in a tweet that three suspects are in custody.

Police say they are searching for the driver of a silver Hyundai Elantra with a South Carolina tag that may have been involved in the incident.

The JSO robbery unit is still investigating.
