JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman riding a scooter died after being hit by a vehicle at Atlantic Boulevard and Bowlan Street on Wednesday night.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle, a white Chrysler 200, was traveling west on Atlantic as the scooter was crossing south on Atlantic.
That driver was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died. The woman was identified by police as 56-year-old Lisa Coulter.
The man driving the Chrysler and his male passenger were not injured and stayed on scene to cooperate with the investigation, JSO said.
A witness told police that the vehicle had a green light at the time of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
