Jacksonville woman arrested after 5-year-old child ingests cocaine

A woman has been arrested after a 5-year-old boy tested positive for cocaine, according to the Atlantic Beach police department.

Kimberly Perez, 33, was arrested on Monday for child neglect.

On Feb. 23, officers responded to Baptist Hospital after receiving information of a 5-year-old boy who tested positive for cocaine and Oxycodone.

Perez left the hospital stating she needed to get something and would be back and never returned.

On Monday Perez agreed to come to the Atlantic Beach police department for questioning where she was then arrested and transported to the Duval County Jail.
